This lamp melts a jar candle from above using its light source, so there is no flame, smoke or soot. It has four brightness settings and a timer, an arm that adjusts for candles up to 6.2 inches tall and 5.1 inches wide, and a matte black metal base with a polka-dotted glass shade. It is rated 4.6 across more than 5,800 reviews.
Why it makes a good gift
Best for : Someone who already burns jar candles at home and wants the scent without an open flame
Best occasion : Christmas, birthdays and housewarmings
Why it works : It's a gift that builds on a candle collection she already owns: the lamp melts her existing jar candles from above, and the dimmer and timer make it feel like a small gadget rather than plain decor. With its matte black base and polka-dotted glass shade it also reads as a lamp on a nightstand or shelf, so it looks like a present, not an accessory.
Avoid if : The person doesn't burn scented candles, or their candles are taller than 6.2 inches or wider than 5.1 inches.
