Why it makes a good gift
Best for : An electric guitarist who already has an amp and a few pedals and wants a classic effect to add
Best occasion : Christmas, a birthday
Why it works : A wah is an effect guitarists often ask for by name, so it works well when you know the recipient plays electric guitar. The Original Cry Baby name is a recognizable one, and a 4.6 rating across 1,900+ reviews at about $100 makes it an easy pick to defend.
Avoid if : You do not know whether they play electric guitar or already own a wah: the pedal needs a guitar, an amp and cables, and some players never use the effect.
