Why it makes a good gift
Best for : Grandparents who live far from the grandkids and never scroll social media for photos.
Best occasion : Christmas, Mother's Day, Grandparents Day or a birthday.
Why it works : It keeps giving after it's unwrapped: every photo a child or grandchild sends shows up on the frame, with nothing for grandma or grandpa to set up. You can preload memories and a message before you wrap it, and there's no subscription. Rated 4.7 across 13,000+ reviews, at about $170.
Avoid if : The home has no Wi-Fi, or the family won't actually send photos: the frame lives on those uploads.
